Justice for black girls campus & community ecosystem
Justice for Black Girls’ Campus & Community Ecosystem envisions a national network of campus- and community-based spaces where Black girls and gender-expansive youth engage Black girlhood as a site of intellectual inquiry, cultural expression, and collective transformation.
Across collegiate institutions and communities, collective leaders serve as stewards and innovators of JBG’s work—bridging social justice education, activism, and community-based practice to create environments where Black girls are affirmed, resourced, and positioned as producers of knowledge and agents of change.
JBG Collectives are local expressions of Justice for Black Girls’ national work led by and for Black girls and gender-expansive young people ages 17–24.

The Campus & Community Ecosystem positions Black girls and gender-expansive young people to lead and localize Justice for Black Girls’ social justice education, activism, and cultural activations within their campuses and surrounding communities.
Through the Ecosystem, Collective leaders design and facilitate programming that reflects the specific needs of their local environments—including educational experiences, healing-centered spaces, cultural organizing, and advocacy efforts—while contributing to a broader national network advancing the study, protection, and liberation of Black girls.
Collectives are not expected to look exactly the same. Each is rooted in the needs, culture, and possibilities of its own campus and community while remaining connected to the mission, frameworks, resources, and national community of Justice for Black Girls.
